Website terms

Effective 13 July 2026

Website only

These terms govern the website and free indicative checker. They are not the professional engagement terms for acting as your agent. No agency, filing obligation or success fee begins until the identified contracting entity and customer sign or accept a separate engagement and written authority.

Indicative results

Checker results use licensed official rating-list data for the permitted non-domestic-rating purpose and conservative comparable filters. They are gross estimates before reliefs, transitional arrangements and billing adjustments. They are not a guarantee of a reduction or refund and are not a substitute for inspection, detailed valuation or professional advice. You must not bulk-extract or reuse the underlying data.

Your information

You must provide accurate information and must not upload material you are not entitled to share. Knowingly providing false information in a Check or Challenge may lead to penalties. Never give Ratewise your Government Gateway or business-rates account password.

Availability and acceptable use

Do not probe, overload, scrape at abusive volume, bypass access controls, upload malware or misuse another customer's data. We may suspend access to protect customers or comply with law. We do not promise uninterrupted availability of this pre-engagement website.

Fees

The website checker is free. Any success fee, its calculation, VAT treatment, duration, cancellation rights and example outcomes must be stated in the separate engagement terms before instruction. No website wording overrides that signed agreement.

Governing law

These website terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. The contracting entity and any case-specific terms are identified in the engagement schedule. The service is intended for business users with properties in England and Wales.
